Are You Having Fun?

Depending on your background when you think of fun, a couple of things come to your mind. For me, fun is watching Chelsea Fc win a football match or carrying my adorable niece on my shoulders and hopping like a horse. However, in our walk with our heavenly father, this idea seems foreign.

We have to remind ourselves of God’s grace each day because every single day our minds forget just how good He is.

Recently, I haven’t been having fun with my Heavenly Father for a number of reasons. Mainly because I have been dealing with condemnation. It’s funny how condemnation makes us feel a distance from our heavenly father that simply doesn’t exist and as much as our hearts believe God’s truth in His word, our minds are always playing catch up. We have to remind ourselves of God’s grace each day because every single day our minds forget just how good He is. So, If you are in a place where you can’t seem to shrug off that feeling of guilt and condemnation this piece is God’s heavenly wink to you.

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory

We have peace with God! Your Father likes you. You are cool with him. He is not folding his arms and turning his back at you; In fact, because of Jesus, we are always in favour with our Father. His likeness toward us is not based on our behaviours, It is based on the fact that we are in his Son and his Son is in us. Therefore whatever feeling of distance with our Father is falsified and not the truth!

But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him[God] through the blood of Christ

We don’t just have peace with God, we are near to him. We have a closeness with God that is based solely on the work of his Son, Jesus. This means that our peace is not tied to how well we behave, our closeness to Him is not based on how we feel we have performed or how we have performed. It’s based on how good a Job Jesus did by his blood in taking away our sins and reconciling to us to our Father.

This means we can relax with God. we are not perfectly behaved and we don’t have to be, but we are perfectly loved. Jesus didn’t come to improve our behaviour, He came to make give us his Life so that we can have a relationship with God without any form of condemnation.

You mean to tell me that I am close to God and God is close to me and he is always good to me no matter how shitty I behave? Yes!!!! Thousand times Yes!!!!  Because of this fact, you can always talk to him , you can tell him about everything and anything, our sins are no longer an issue. Is that not really fun?

Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

Since God is always close to us, are you saying we can do whatever we like? LOL! First of all God’s goodness to us will never be determined by our how good we behave, secondly, why are you despising God’s goodness? Don’t you know as believers, truly believing in God’s goodness and our everlasting closeness to him has a sanctifying effect on our behaviour?  God’s grace leads our hearts to true repentance. So, don’t worry about your behaviour, enjoy your Father’s goodness and kindness and your behaviour will line up only this time, It will truly be from your heart!

Parting Scripture – Romans 8 : 1

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

P.s: The Parting scripture is for only believers whose behaviours are warped and imperfect. If you are perfectly behaved, kindly ignore.

If you have not been listening to the songs I add here, I will stop recommending ooo. Better beg me. Check out this
